  Just a couple weeks after sitting on the Sonics trial, U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman passed down a precedent setting judgement in the case of Robert Soloway, the so-called Seattle "Spam King." Yesterday, the Judge sentenced Soloway to 47 months in prison for sending over 90 million spam messages in just three months off two servers. His nearly four year sentence is only half of what the prosecution requested. Soloway is only the second American to be convicted under the Can-Spam Act of 2003.   Bloomberg is reporting that WaMu lost $3.33 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2008. This news may be overshadowed by Wachovia's $8.9 billion whoopsie! but after raising $12 billion last year, Washington Mutual can't take too many more hits like this. Still-not-fired WaMu CEO Kerry Killinger won't get his bonus, it turns out, surprising no one except for the WaMu board that initially wanted to give it to him.   The new $500 million headquarters for The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation broke ground today on lower Queen Anne. The foundation headquarters take up an entire city block, across the street from the Seattle Center and his Microsoft buddy Paul Allen's pet project, the EMP. The planned campus will be 90,000 square feet and include offices for 1,200 employees as well as an interactive museum.   The cost of fielding a perennially bad team may finally start hitting the Mariners in the bank account next season. The P-I is reporting that the M's will move to KIRO-AM next year in a $5.5 million per year deal for three seasons. This season, at KOMO-AM, the M's are earning $10 million in radio revenue. The huge reduction in radio revenue can be attributed to lower ratings, due to the team's poor performance as well as the growth of internet/satellite radio. St. Helens has had five months of silence and the St. Helens eruption of 2004-2008 has officially been declared over. The U.S. Geological Survey's Cascades Volcano Observatory has removed an elevated warning of eruption from their classification of the volcano, downgrading its status from advisory ("elevated unrest") to normal.
